Opinions Desperately Wanted!

Okay, so maybe 'desperately' is a little over the top. But I do want your input. My sister has gone with me to three different places to try on glasses (so far), and I have some photos of the good ones. Weigh in, everyone... or everyone who wants to, that is. If you've been reading along, you'll remember that I have a hang-up about wearing glasses. But if y'all help me pick some good ones, then I'll feel more comfortable about actually being seen in public in them.

The choices are:

1. Actually, I don't think these are too bad....
2. It's not a good picture of me at all, but I like these red ones. I just need a better picture.
3. A little long, perhaps?
4. Sophia Loren has some snazzy specs, no doubt!
5. Nothing says 'old maid' quite like these....
6. Hmmmm... worth considering.
7. Nothing says 1988 quite like these! 8. I can't remember if these had any colour to them or not....
9. Eeek! Please ignor that double chin. Thanks.
10. Um. Maybe, not quite...
11. Cat-eye wannabe?
11. I think these had sparkly flowers on the arms. Classy.
12. That's right-- don't mess with the school marm.

So, what do you think so far? Any suggestions? Should I look at colours or just plain blacks or browns? Do you like the rounded or the squared? Gimme some advice, please! Help me be the coolest looking dork around. =D

So that's 1 1/2 votes for #1, one vote for #6 (thanks, Michelle!), and hopefully no one thinks I'm serious about, ahem, some of these. Surely you know which.... =D

I like #6; they're cute, contemporary, and fit your eyes/face well. Good luck!

Shouldn't you have mentioned how you actually own pair #7 back in the second grade? Then #5 in the 5-7th grade. Ending your HS career with pair #4?

At least you didn't find any of the gawd awful wire frames that i was stuck wearing in HS myself.

Yeah... thanks so much for bringing up those horrible memories. I think I'll go cry myself to sleep now.....

I like #6 the best too. I like the ones that aren't quite square but aren't round either - a bit of an angle is nice. As for color, a hint of color is nice, but you probbaly don't want the whole glasses to be something other than a neutral black or brown. Mine have hints of blue and are really cool (Anne Klein). Now if only they didn't give me a headache every time i try to wear them. I think the prescription is wrong.

Anyway, I digress. I think all the more contemporary glasses looked good. i'd steer clear of the 80's looking ones though. :) Can't wait to see which ones you choose. When are you coming to TX to show them to me?

I LOVE #3. Very sophisticated. If it were me, and I am very picky about the glasses I wear, I would choose them.

I'd vote for #6. However, do #1 and #2 come with a free baby, as shown in the picture? Because that changes everything....

So which ones did you choose? And where's the picture? Come on girl, we need an update! :)
